The prostate’s job is to produce and expel a fluid that nourishes and protects sperm on its way to fertilize an egg. Despite this crucial role in reproduction, we typically hear about the prostate when its causing problems, which it does quite a bit. The three most common prostate issues are; prostate enlargement or benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), an inflammation of the prostate or prostatitis, and prostate cancer. Even though this gland impacts the lives of countless millions, misinformation abounds.
