Dr. Fernando Martinez, MD, is the Chief of the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine and NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center. He is a premiere translational researcher in chronic lung disease, recognized nationally and internationally for his seminal studies in phenotypic and functional classification, and clinical interventions in COPD and interstitial lung disease. He has published more than 300 papers in peer-reviewed journals.
Prior to Weill Cornell, Dr. Martinez was Professor of Internal Medicine and Associate Chief for Clinical Research in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Michigan Health System, Ann Arbor, Michigan, as well as Medical Director of its Pulmonary Diagnostic Services and Co-Medical director of the Lung Transplantation Program.
