Doctor of Medicine

Dr. Erik Johnson completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, attended medical school at Eastern Virginia Medical School, and began residency training in internal medicine at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth while serving on active duty in the U.S. Navy. During that time, he served as senior medical officer aboard two amphibious ships. He later completed a family medicine residency at Summa Barberton Hospital, where he served as chief resident. In 2022, Dr. Johnson founded a nonprofit to deliver critical medical supplies to eastern Ukraine, train foreign volunteer medics in combat trauma care, and provide critical medical care during the transport of gunshot and blast victims as they moved from the front lines to surgical field hospitals, and then to standing hospitals outside of the areas of conflict. He is passionate about supporting patients facing obesity, addiction, and trauma through a team-based, patient-centered approach, and was drawn to Ro for their commitment to empowering individuals in their health journeys.
