We’re thrilled to welcome Charles Barkley as a Ro GLP-1 ambassador. This partnership is so much more than an advertising campaign — it’s rooted in Charles’ personal experience and the beginning of an important conversation that he can uniquely lead. Here are four reasons we’re proud to be working together:

1. Charles’ story is both deeply personal — and far too common

Charles is no stranger to the power of GLP-1s. When he first started taking a GLP-1 medication, he lost nearly 50 pounds. But like millions of Americans, Charles ran into a frustrating reality: it’s hard to stick with treatment if you can’t consistently access it. He eventually had to stop — and regained much of the weight. Now, Charles is restarting his journey with Ro, drawn to the simplicity of our patient experience: access to medication, support from medical providers, and technology that removes the hoops and headaches of traditional care.

4. He cares about health equity and access — and he’s ready to use his voice

Beyond the campaign, we’re excited to explore future opportunities with Charles and his new production company, Round Mound Media — including ways to spotlight obesity education, share real stories, and reach more people who could benefit from treatment.

“This isn’t just about me,” Charles said. “It’s about making sure regular folks have real tools to take control of their health and start feeling better.”
