A year and a half ago, Hannah wasn’t a runner. She never imagined she could be. But after starting GLP-1 treatment on Ro, something shifted. As her health improved, Hannah set new goals – she started small with 5Ks. She continued to train and gain more endurance, leading her to run a little farther each time. Recently, Hannah crossed another finish line: completing her first full marathon—something she once thought was impossible.

For most of her life, Hannah struggled with her weight and with how the world saw her because of it. She remembers being bullied in school and feeling like her weight was something she couldn’t escape. The mental toll felt constant.

Before starting GLP-1 treatment on Ro, food took up most of Hannah’s mental space. She didn’t know there was a name for what she was experiencing: food noise—the unwanted persistent and intrusive thoughts about food that makes it hard to focus on anything other than what, when, or how much to eat. For the majority of her life, Hannah thought that was normal.

When she began her GLP-1 treatment, the change came quickly. Her food noise almost instantly quieted. For the first time, Hannah could think about more than food. Over the next year and a half, Hannah lost more than 75 pounds. But more importantly, she gained a sense of freedom she’d never felt before. With that sense of freedom, Hannah passionately chased after her goals—including the Twin Cities Marathon.

To celebrate Hannah’s incredible accomplishments, our team flew out to Minnesota to capture her completing the race in a short documentary that follows her journey to race day.

The film offers a glimpse into what’s possible when patients have access to effective treatment, compassionate support, and a care plan designed around their goals. For Hannah, one of those goals was to run a marathon. For others, it might be to play with their kids without getting winded, lower their blood sugar, or simply feel good in their own skin. No two journeys are the same but we love celebrating our patients and witnessing them reaching their goals.
