A weight loss program that actually works
Lose weight on your own terms with revolutionary GLP-1 medication.
Let’s get into it
How it works
Step 1
Complete your online visit
Tell us about your health history and goals through an online visit. Your answers will help us determine if GLP-1 treatment is right for you.
Step 2
Get your Metabolic Test
We’ll order an easy-to-use, at-home blood sample collection kit to help us learn more about how your body is working right now. The test analyzes how your body processes things like sugar and helps us understand your unique Body Story and metabolism (neat, huh?).
Step 3
Review results
You’ll go over your test results with a healthcare provider during a one-on-one video chat. This will help map out a personalized plan for your weight loss.
Step 4
Start your program
You'll begin your 1:1 health coaching and step-by-step curriculum while our partners work with your insurers to get you covered for FDA-approved GLP-1 medication.
Step 5
See and feel results
Our holistic program concentrates on your medication, nutrition, exercise, sleep, and emotional health. In clinical trials, patients lost 15%* of their body weight after 1 year, on average.
*Based on the average weight loss in three 68-week clinical trials of patients without diabetes who reached and maintained a dose of 2.4 mg/week of GLP-1 treatment, along with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.
Weight loss is complicated. We can help clear things up.
The Body Program costs $99 for your first month and $135/month thereafter. Please note that GLP-1 medication is billed separately and not covered in the program cost. Medication cost will depend on your personal insurance coverage, and our partners will work with your insurer to help determine coverage (see more about this in “Do you accept insurance?”).
Insurance concierge services for the cost of medications are provided through the Body Program. Our partners will work directly with your insurance provider to help with the process of determining coverage for your GLP-1 medication, which is paid for separately from the Body Program. Ro does not accept insurance for the Body Program, which is cash pay only. At this time, those with any form of government healthcare coverage (including programs such as Medicare, Medicaid or TRICARE), whether primary or secondary, are not eligible for the Body Program. These plans typically do not cover the type of medication the Body Program may prescribe. Unfortunately, this means that those on Medicare or eligible for Medicare cannot join the Body Program.
If for some reason your insurance will not cover the cost of your medication, you’ll have the option to either pay for the medication out of pocket (typically $900–$1,600/month, depending on the medication) or cancel your Body Program membership. Given the cost of initial diagnostics, ongoing provider support, and insurance assistance, we are unable to offer refunds for previously incurred monthly membership fees.
After you complete your online visit, a Ro-affiliated healthcare provider will review your answers and determine whether treatment is right for you. If approved, we’ll ask you to complete a metabolic test so we can see how your body’s working right now. Next, your provider will review the results of your test and determine if GLP-1 medication is right for you.
Is the entire program completely online?
It can be! The initial visit, chats with your healthcare professional, and on-demand messaging can all happen from the comfort of your home. You can take your metabolic lab test in person at a Quest location or you upgrade to an at-home blood collection kit for $75.
If you live in a state where Quest is unavailable (NY, NJ, RI, ND, SD, WY), we’ll send you an at-home blood collection kit at no charge.
In a clinical trial evaluating one of the GLP-1 medications offered through the Ro Body Program, the average person lost 15% of their body weight when the medication was combined with lifestyle modifications.
Everyone responds to these medications differently, and your Ro-affiliated provider will work with you to get the best results for you and your personal goals.
Your Body Program fees ($99 first month and $135 monthly membership fee thereafter) include a personalized treatment plan, up to 24 live video sessions per year with your health coach, ongoing provider support with 1:1 messaging, a step-by-step curriculum, a Metabolic Test, a Withings Pro Body Scale, and, through our partners, insurance coverage support for the cost of prescription medication. The cost of prescription medication is not included in the Body Program fees.
Many weight loss programs feature restrictive diets that cut out long lists of foods. Our approach is different. Rather than making whole food groups off-limits, we’ll teach you a new way to look at food—using a few simple guidelines to choose more nutritious foods while finding a balance that’s effective and comfortable for you.
GLP-1s are a type of medication called glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists that Ro-affiliated providers regularly prescribe to Ro Body Program patients. GLP-1s have been FDA-approved and deemed safe and effective for managing a number of conditions, including weight management and type 2 diabetes, when taken as directed. GLP-1 medications come in pre-filled injector pens and are self-administered through subcutaneous injection.
GLP-1s help with weight management in two ways:
They slow down how quickly food leaves your stomach—making you feel full faster and satiated for longer
They talk directly to the part of your brain in charge of feeling full—helping you regulate how much you eat
When combined with the Ro Body Program components, GLP-1s are an excellent tool to support healthy weight management.
When appropriate, Ro-affiliated providers prescribe one of several GLP-1s. Your Ro-affiliated provider will work with you to find the right medication for your body and goals.
Wegovy is a brand of semaglutide that’s FDA-approved for long-term weight management in people with a body mass index (BMI) ≥30 kg/m2, and in people with a BMI ≥27 kg/m2 plus at least one weight-related medical condition (like high blood pressure or type 2 diabetes), when used in combination with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.
Ozempic is a brand of semaglutide that’s FDA-approved for the management of certain symptoms and risks of type 2 diabetes, when used in combination with diet and exercise. For most people, using Ozempic may result in weight loss, and it can be prescribed at the provider’s discretion for weight loss.
The GLP-1 Ro-affiliated providers prescribe is called semaglutide. The side effects of semaglutide are typically mild and often improve within the first few weeks of treatment. Some of the most common side effects include:

More severe side effects are uncommon but possible. Serious side effects include:
Thyroid cancer—The FDA has issued its most serious warning (called a BOXED WARNING) that GLP-1s like semaglutide may be associated with a type of thyroid cancer called medullary thyroid carcinoma. So far, this side effect has only been seen in laboratory studies using rodents, so the risk to humans has not been determined.
