What has to happen for my provider to write a GLP-1 prescription?
We’ll send you a reminder to fill out your treatment check-in. In it, you’ll have the opportunity to select a treatment preference, give additional pharmacy and insurance information, and verify that you’ve read about possible medication side effects.
Your provider will review your check-in (and lab results, if you were asked to complete a test), to make sure GLP-1s are safe and effective for you.
If a provider determines that you're eligible for treatment, they'll write a prescription for a GLP-1 medication.
What does it mean if a provider says I’m eligible for treatment?
If you're eligible for treatment, your provider has determined that you could benefit from treatment with GLP-1 medications. At this point, they will write a prescription for GLP-1 medication and, if applicable, our insurance concierge partner will start the process of determining your options for coverage.
The next step would be to initiate the insurance verification process. If you're a patient who is either uninsured or opting to continue without insurance support (paying out of pocket), please be sure to let your provider know, and our partners will immediately start looking for a pharmacy to fill your prescription.
