Endometriosis
Endometriosis is a condition characterized by the growth of endometrial tissue, which forms the lining of the uterus, in areas other than the uterus. It most commonly appears in other areas of the abdomen or pelvis but can actually grow anywhere in the body. The condition is painful and extremely debilitating, especially in response to hormonal changes associated with your menstrual cycle. It can also affect a person’s fertility. About one in every 10 people with a uterus experience endometriosis and there is a wide range of treatment options to explore.
