Dr. Ekan Essien, MD, MPH

Dr. Ekan Essien, MD, MPH, a native Georgian, has pursued his interest in health and wellness as far back as he can remember. His curiosity and interest in health and medicine first emerged in his home environment observing both parents who are physicians. Dr. Essien received a BA from Duke University. He continued his education at Florida A&M University where he received his Masters of Public Health in Epidemiology; received his medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee; and obtained training in general and trauma surgery at Grady Memorial Hospital at Morehouse School of Medicine. He is a candidate in the post-graduate fellowship in anti-aging and regenerative medicine from the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. Dr. Essien joined Ro’s affiliated network because it provides a platform to reach patients that might otherwise not have easy access to healthcare. It also provides an opportunity to educate patients on the importance of healthy lifestyles, especially as it pertains to Men’s Health issues
