Dr. Dweep Barbhaya completed his residency training in internal medicine at Georgetown University / MedStar Washington Hospital Center, and is double board-certified in internal medicine and obesity medicine.

Dr. Barbhaya developed a deep interest in weight loss medicine after witnessing a close family member struggle with the serious complications of obesity. That experience, combined with a mentor's perspective that obesity should be treated not as a lifestyle choice but as a chronic medical condition deserving the same attention as any other disease, shaped his approach to patient care. He believes that addressing obesity meaningfully can have a profound and lasting impact on patients' lives.

Dr. Barbhaya was drawn to Ro for their innovative and effective approach to delivering healthcare in today's world.
