Shayna Walker, MD

Dr. Shayna Walker, MD is a dual board-certified physician in psychiatry and family medicine with nearly two decades of clinical experience. Known for her thoughtful and reliable communication, she is a trusted advocate for advanced practice provider (APP) collaboration, offering supervision and mentorship to providers at all stages of their careers.

Dr. Walker’s extensive expertise spans adult and child psychiatry, substance use treatment, and integrated family medicine care. She has a particular focus on weight management for all populations, providing comprehensive and compassionate care tailored to individual needs.

A pioneer in telepsychiatry, Dr. Walker has developed and implemented programs to improve access to mental health services in underserved communities, both before and after the pandemic. Her leadership roles include successfully managing teams of up to 30 behavioral health providers and 15 support staff, as well as serving as a clinical director for behavioral health departments.

Currently licensed in over 21 states, Dr. Walker provides comprehensive supervision and support tailored to the needs of APPs. She is dedicated to bridging the gap between psychiatry and family medicine to enhance patient care.

Dr. Walker earned her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed her residency in Family Medicine and Psychiatry at the University of California, San Diego, where she also served as Chief Resident.

She is passionate about improving access to quality mental health care, fostering collaborative care models, and addressing weight management challenges to enhance patient well-being.
